Why is Entrepreneurship Important for Women?

 

Entrepreneurship is key to empowering women, particularly in rural India, as it helps transform lives, strengthens families, builds stronger communities and societies. With women’s per capita income significantly lower than men’s, entrepreneurship offers a crucial path to financial independence and self-reliance. By starting their own businesses, women gain confidence, improve their social status and contribute to the economic growth of their villages.

Our Entrepreneurship Development Program is designed to equip women with the skills, resources and support needed to start and grow their own businesses. By providing these tools, we help women create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to inclusive economic development, especially in rural Gujarat.

 

Our Interventions

 

We support women in both farm-based and non-farm businesses with an integrated approach that includes capacity building, access to finance, mentorship, networking and market linkages. Our training programs teach essential business skills, such as business planning, financial management and marketing. We also help women access financial resources like microfinance, grants and other financial services, enabling them to secure the capital needed to start and expand their businesses. Through our mentorship programs, women are paired with experienced mentors who provide guidance and support. Additionally, we create networking opportunities, connecting women with peers, industry experts and potential buyers. We also help establish market linkages, allowing women to showcase and sell their products effectively, driving their business success.
